Palmetto Pillar Awards applications due: Friday, June 25th

The Greater Columbia Chamber of Commerce and the Information Technology Council (ITC) are still accepting applications for the 10th Annual Palmetto Pillar Awards. Individuals and organizations that are leading the Riverbanks Region to Greatness through technology are encouraged to apply in our six new categories:

  • The Palmetto Pillar Award for Greatness in Technology in Industry

The Technology in Industry Award recognizes a company or organization for the application or development of innovative technology-based projects and programs which impact industry as a commercial venture or improve work process by increasing sales and/or unit volume.

 

  • The Palmetto Pillar Award for Greatness in Technology in Government

The Technology in Government Award recognizes a company or organization for the application or development of innovative technology-based projects and programs that impact government and related operations in the Riverbanks Region.

 

  • The Palmetto Pillar Award for Greatness in Technology in Education

The Technology in Education Award recognizes a company or organization for the application or development of innovative, technology-based projects and programs that impact an education program or activity in the Riverbanks Region.

 

  • The Palmetto Pillar Award for Greatness in Small Enterprise Achievement

The Small Enterprise Award recognizes a small business entity, defined as an organization with fewer than 50 full-time employees or less than $20 million in revenue, for the innovative application or development of a technology-based product, process or service.

 

  • The Palmetto Pillar Award for Greatness in Individual Achievement

The Individual Achievement Award honors an individual who exhibits a commitment to the advancement of technology in the Riverbanks Region through his/her technology-oriented contributions. Such contributions may be business, civic and/or educational in nature and must benefit the Riverbanks Region.

 

  • The Palmetto Pillar Award for Overall Greatness

The Palmetto Pillar Award for Overall Greatness is open to all nominees and is awarded to the outfit, individual, or entity that shows overall stellar improvement, technology utilization, or achievement.

To apply for a Palmetto Pillar Award, or to make a nomination, fill out the enclosed nomination form, or log onto www.colaITC.com. Be sure to consider applying for multiple categories, as nominees are eligible to win more than one award. Applications must be received by Friday, July 25, 2008.

The Information Technology Council alsoinvites you to 10th Annual Palmetto Pillar Awards banquet presented by AT&T on Thursday, August 14, 2008 at the Embassy Suites Hotel at 6:00 PM when we honor individuals and organizations that are leading the Riverbanks Region to Greatness through technology. Ed Sellers, CEO of BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina will be the keynote speaker for the evening.

We have opportunities for Platinum Sponsorships at $2,500, Gold Award Sponsorships at $1,500, Silver Sponsorships at $800, Pillar Table Sponsorships at $600, or individuals at $75. As always, we anticipate a large crowd at this event. Registration and payment must be made in advance.  Please note:  no tickets will be issued for this event there will be a list at the door.
